Niacin quiet here.
All jokes aside. Have you ever been introduced to Niacin? Well, you might actually know Niacin by another name, AKA Vitamin B3.
You may remember B1 and B2 from "Bananas in Pyjamas" but, you'll want to make B3 your friend. B3 is a very important nutrient! Because every part of your body requires B3 to function properly. Some people take it as a supplement, but unfortunately it can cause some serious side effects, if taken in large supplement doses.
Well, what are the benefits of eating Niacin rich foods?
It is essential for energy production and for brain function. It helps balance blood sugar and lower cholesterol levels. It also helps decrease inflammation, such as arthritis, and very helpful for digestion. And let's not forget how important it is for glowing skin!
OK! So where can we get our supply of Niacin or Vitamin B3 from, naturally?
Here are some excellent sources:
mushrooms, salmon, tuna, chicken, asparagus, cabbage, lamb, mackerel, turkey, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, cauliflower and nuts.
Hmmm.... hang on. I'll be back in a bit..
Sorry, I got hungry, so I just grabbed some fresh salmon and veggies that I recently bought from Jim's Home Fresh, and added a tiny bit of oil with some crushed pepper and Himalayan rock salt, and a dash of lemon pepper. I popped it onto some grease-proof paper and into the oven for about 35 minutes. I prepared a side dish of some oven baked cauliflower and mushrooms, also covered in some delicious seasoning.
Quickly whipped up a green leafy salad, adding some fresh tomatoes and helped myself and my family to create a nice body packed with Niacin. Yummy!
A nice body needs Niacin.
Nice one Niacin!
